The Civil Division of the Licking County Prosecutor's Office acts as the County's law firm providing legal advice to the board of county commissioners, board of elections, public libraries, park districts, all other elected and appointed county officers, boards and employees, as well as all 25 townships within Licking County.  

The Civil Division represents the interests of its clients in state and federal court, as well as in a variety of administrative settings. This division provides its clients with additional legal services in the areas of contract review and enforcement, real property sale and/or purchase, zoning and land use planning, as well as a myriad of other legal issues that arise. In addition, the Civil Division renders written legal opinions upon client request.

Assistant Prosecutor Carolyn Carnes is Chief of the Civil Division.
