Today, July 15, 2021, Kalina Gillum was given Probation by Judge David Branstool in the case where Gillum was convicted on May 24, 2021, by a Licking County Jury of twelve (12) on Counts of
Endangering Children, a 3rd Degree Felony,
Tampering with Evidence, a 3rd Degree Felony,
and Abuse of a Corpse, a 5th Degree Felony
in the death of her infant child, Cayden Gillum, after his birth.
Judge Branstool dismissed a 1st degree Felony Count during the trial.
Jenny Wells, 1st Assistant Prosecutor, on behalf of the State of Ohio recommended 7 years in prison.

On May 24, 2021, a Licking County Jury in Judge David Branstool's courtroom returned guilty verdicts against Kalina Gillum on three felony charges relating to the pre-term delivery of her baby, Cayden Gillum. Sentencing will be at a later date set by the Court.
First Assistant Prosecutor Jenny Wells prosecuted the case with the help of Assistant Prosecutor Bill Case. Brad Fisher, detective with the Heath Police Department, was the lead investigator.
Judge David Branstool dismissed a 1st degree felony charge of Involuntary Manslaughter against Gillum on the Motion of the defense earlier during the trial.
